How Low Doc Works

Low doc loans are for business buyers whose tax returns are behind or don't show current income. Instead of full financials, lenders accept recent business bank statements, BAS or an accountant's letter, plus your declaration that the repayments are affordable.

You'll usually need an ABN that's been active for a while and a reasonable credit file. Because there's less paperwork, loan limits may be lower and rates a little higher than full doc. Running all your business income through one account makes a big difference.

Common Questions

An active ABN, 3 to 6 months of bank statements showing regular income, and full details of the trailer you want to finance. Some lenders also accept BAS statements as income evidence.
Sometimes marginally. The gap between low doc and full doc rates has narrowed significantly as specialist lenders compete for this market.
Popular trailers with strong resale markets — curtainsiders, standard semi-trailers, horse floats, boat trailers — are most easily approved on low doc because the asset provides strong security for the lender.
